“Pumpkin Pie” (Evan Taubenfeld/Kevin Kadish/Adam Richman) Very Big Evil Corp.(ASCAP) Slowguy Songs/Warner Chappell Music Publishing(ASCAP) Music From a Bucket Publishing (BMI) The StoryWriting the SongRecording the SongLyric Video "sounds the most like me in a nutshell. If you put on that song and listen for three minutes, it'll give you a sense of what it's like to hang out with me." (1) "I think the first time I sat back and heard "Pumpkin Pie" finished it really sunk in with me that we had created something special. I could literally envision playing that song at huge award shows and on television and hearing it all over the radio, I got insanely crazy goosebumps and smiled like a maniac for about an hour."(2) Making of Pumpkin Pie"PP on the other hand was just a fucking nightmare. I had this chorus that Adam Richman and I had written and we knew it was special. When we demoed it up everyone was like "thats your first single" but a few people in my inner circle of trust and I knew the verses weren't right.I think we literally re-wrote the verse music 10 times until I threw my hands up and sent it to Kadish for his thoughts. He called me the next morning with this really cool vibe and change for it so we started building off of that. We basically had the entire musical structure and arrangement for the whole song, and we had the chorus out of the way (thank god) but we re-wrote the verse lyrics no less than 50 times. I'd actually say more like 100 times. BUT, it's the best song on the record. So there ya go." (3) Quote Sources( 1.) The official biography, spring 2009 ( 2.) “Boy Meets Girl” (Evan Taubenfeld/William James (Bleu) McAuley III/Adam Richman/Alex Scutro) Very Big Evil Corp.(ASCAP) Crappy Music (ASCAP)/EMI April Music) Music From a Bucket Publishing (BMI) Big Reliable Music (ASCAP) About Boy Meets GirlEvan explains how the song is composed of 2 different songsTHE RECORDING OF "BOY MEETS GIRL" May 26, 2009 This song was everything but easy, seriously. Fields and I almost threw the towel in and gave up but somehow we stuck it out, threw everything but the kitchen sink in there and it became my first single. Here's a little look at how we did it (barely). -Evan Making of Boy Meets Girl"The hardest songs [to write] have been Pumpkin Pie & Boy Meets Girl BMG was tough because Bleu and I had started messing with this chorus and tweaking the verse but it wasn't feeling right(he has that version recorded actually and it's kinda like a country song or something). So we decided to completely re-write the verse and bridge. It wasn't the hardest thing I've done, but I was so used to the old verse that it took me a long long while to wrap my head around it."

-Story Behind the Song-
"its [Evan Way] about how lucky we are for the brief moments we have and how we shouldn't take any of it for granted, but its told through a very personal story of mine." (1)
"It's the story of a terrible car accident my father had been in a year to the day before I was born. They thought he was going to die, but he pulled through. The circumstances of it are still unspoken in my family, so writing about it was my way of confronting it. It's the toughest song on the album for me." (2)
"The location of the accident eventually marked the spot for what would be later developed into a neighborhood and coincidentally the street was named "Evan Way" yes its very very fucking freaky, hence the title." (3)
-Making of Evan Way- "Easiest song on this record was probably "Evan Way". I had been waiting to tell that story my whole life and when I finally decided I'd write it, it poured out." (4)
-Special Appearances- "Avril sang on "Evan Way" and she killed it" - Evan Taubenfeld (6)
"He has been working really hard on his record and I'm so proud of him." - Avril Lavigne (7)
