So last saturday, February 5th I went to Paris to see Sum 41, I was really exited because I had been waiting for this day since the last time I saw them in Italy.
I arrived to Paris on friday 4th at around 20:35, went to the hotel (which was next to the Zenith) and there I met Lily (a BLCer) I have to say that was one of the best things of that trip to Paris, it was so cool meeting her in person
The next day, saturday we went to the Sum 41 concert together.
On saturday morning I woke up early and I went to visit Mont Martre, Louvre and some other stuff in Paris, all the time thinking about the concert, I just couldn't believe ths was real, me in Paris? Sum 41 concert that day? I had met Lily? All of that was so unbelievable. Lily and I were texting all day long and then I finally went to the hotel at around 16:00 and met Lily with some friends of her to go to the concert.
As my hotel was next to the hotel we had no problems to arrive to the Zenith, just walking. We arrived there and there were many people already, there was no file or anything so we just went with the crowd.
The doors we supposed to open at 18:00, and yeah they did. Until that time people was already crazy, signing, drinking, etc etc, and people went much crazier at around 17:30 when they put 3 things to show our tickets or sth.
At 18:00 everyone was going inside, everytime I was more and more nervous, I even felt like a weird stomach ache, I was so exited.
We got inside and went right to the crowd, there were some places to stand and others to sit, we stood as it was better anc we could be closer to the Sums. We waited there, my legs were tired, xD
After waiting for I don't know how much time Les Starliners started to play, people already was crazy, everyone started to jump, push, and hit each other, it was so hot there, I wish I hadn't brought my jacket cause I had to have it in my hands all the time and it was tiring.
When Les Starliners finished, we had to wait around 30 minutes for the Sums to come and then they finally came. I was going to see the Sums again, I couldn't believe that, more and more exited.
Then a man came to the stage and said that thing about the 41 shows in France, he talked in french but I more or least understood him.
When I heard the intro (that Carl Off thing) I knew they were really coming, they started to play My Direction, I was hoping they'd play The Hell Song as their 1st song, but they didn't they played My Direction, everyone went crazy again, but crazier than before, I almost lost my shoes, there were times in which I couldn't breath with all the people pushing you, I even sometimes could be "on the air" like "flying", man I felt so small, hha You had to jump if you didn't want to fall down.
A video I recorded:
After My Direction they played Skumfuck, it was cool listening to it live. After My Direction I think they played We're All To Blame (I can't remember exactly what songs they played or the order of them).
I love We're All To Blame, but when they played that I had gone far from the stage because I couldn't breath so I just moved to the back, but later I went closer again and I was in around 3rd row.
Video:
After We're All To Blame I think they played Walking Disaster, and then Over My Head (Better Off Dead)
And then they finally played Screaming Bloody Murder, that was one of the reasons I wanted to see them, I wanted so bad to listen to SBM live! A really weird feeling went through all my body when Tom played that solo thing in the beginning
It was one of my favourite parts, Deryck said they were a fuckin assholes, and asked us to say fuck you Sum 41, etc etc, it was funny, everyone saying fuck you Sum 41!
After SBM I think they played Motivation, and then The Hell Song, yes! The Hell Song, I had been waiting to listen this song live since September 4th in Italy, it's awesome!
After The Hell Song I think I went out to get some water (3 € the bottle man!) and while I was outside I think they played Makes No Difference, a song that I didn't expect because it was from their very first album, but one of my fav Sum 41 songs, after MND I think they played In Too Deep and I'm not sure if they played Still Waiting, I can't remember because I was outside. Then I came in again (stronger than ever thanks to the water ;D) and got into the crowd, started to go closer and closer! And yes I think here is when I lost my watch, so sad
Well Deryck said it was time for them to have some fun playing some metal, like Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, etc
After playing some metal they said they were now going to play some metal of their own, which one? Mr Amsterdam, I couldn't believe they were playing Mr Amsterdam! Another song that I didn't expect!
After Mr Amsterdam they played Underclass Hero (great song♥) and Deryck talked about the 41 shows in France again.
Then they played Pieces, yeeah Pieces another unexpected song!! I loved it, another weird feeling went through all my body, it was great they played Pieces, yeah it was great, there were times in which I felt like crying, I was so exited.
And to end (so sad) they played Fat Lip and Pain For Pleasure, at that time I was really close from them, so it was great seeing Stevo, he looked so big there, haha. He started dancing, like typical Steve, so funny, I loved the end When Stevo spoke everyone shut up, he looked like the king or sth.
It was such a great day, when the concert ended we stayed there until the security guys told us to leave, we were like the last ones to leave, I didn't really feel like leaving.
I didn't buy any merch because I was already wearing the Harder faster stronger hoodie, and the Sum41 t-shirt and the 41 wristband.
I left Paris on sunday evening but I had an awesome day with Lily. BLCers are great! haha more in person.
I took like 200 photos of the Sums, here are some:
The photos are all in my facebook
