that's a really hard question to answer just because it's not finished yet. i'm still just in the writing phase. so far it's impossible to compare it to any of our previous albums because it's so different. but if i had to say something, it would starting off where chuck left off in a way. the songs i've been writing are really big sounding and aggressive. it's sort of like the next step from chuck and particularly we're all to blame, in the sense that it has a lot of different styles of music in one song but tends to lean more to the darker heavier side. again i don't mean it sounds like that but that's the best example i can give right now. hope that makes some kind of sense.

i never write anything for commercial success if i did we wouldn't have done so many of the things that we've done in our career. i always do what feels most natural to me at the time. and hate repeating a previous record. i love our last record more than any of other records and if it was so commercial it would have sold more. ha ha!

he's as official as it gets really. we love having him in the band and he's an amazing player. and he cares about what we do and our fans. as long as it's working i can't see it changing. but you never know life throws curve balls everyday so nothing is forever. what do you guys think about him?

you guys have been at it for so long and continue to produce really great music, tour constantly yet seem to stay sane at the same time. what does it take to keep the same group of friends together for that longer and balance fun and work at the same time?
thanks alot

cool thanks! i guess it's just because we love what we do. and at the end of the day we're all just very normal guys who still like having fun together. as you get old i find some people grow with you and some people grow apart. that's the case with dave. he's a great guy and i have nothing bad i can say about him. he just grew apart from the 3 of us and we grew stronger.

well the way it's always kind of worked is that i'm very particular about the songs that i write and i usually like to play them. so i think i will keep more like that. plus i record in my house so it's really easy for me to just play everything while i'm sitting there doing it. but who knows, anything is possible

well i can honestly say i don't like it being stolen. too much time, heart, soul, work and money goes into creating great music and it's a shame that because of all the bullshit that's happen to the music business that people don't get to hear a lot of great new bands because none of them can get anywhere. but at the same time i live in reality and realize that just because it's not right for people to steal doesn't mean they won't. i don't really care that much where it's heard or advertised though. as long is it's something that i personally feel comfortable with.

hmmm. that's a good question. everything changes but at the same time it feels like everything's the same. you still go through the same panic, the same worry if you can still do it, the same confusion, the same writers block but the difference is your entire life is different than it was. for me i enjoy writing now more than ever. i can express certain things instantly when it used to be harder. and we're a way better band now so we can play things that we couldn't have done before. i think in the past some of the ideas i had never really came out the way i wanted them to. now i can focus and idea or feeling in a much better way. or at least a more comfortable way, for myself anyway

it's terrible and the only reason labels are holding back money from bands is because there is no money. nobody buys records. so in the end bands get fucked. i have no idea what's going to happen to music in the future at the rate it's going now. have you noticed that there are no big new superstar bands? the only bands that are big are the bands that were already big. it's a shame because lots of bands wish so bad they can make it as big as they want to but don't get the chance

well we can back it's straight into writing for me. we're still not anywhere close to making this album. the songs we have so far have been really exciting but as i keep writing i keep beating the songs i wrote previously. so i want to keep going. i'd rather take the time to make the best record we can even if it takes a little longer.

that's tough so i guess i would give them the greatest hits. it's really too difficult to say because all the albums are so different from each other and just because one is a favorite or one isn't my favorite it doesn't mean that either of those records will sum up what the band is completely all about. people seem to like chuck but it's not the all around defining sound of the band same with any of the others.
